Acnezine - FAQs
Men’s Provillus - FAQs
Women's Provillus - FAQ
What causes acne?
Acne occurs when the hair follicle pores become blocked. The
oil called sebum builds up inside the pore and becomes
infected with bacteria. When the infection remains under the
skin surface, it develops into a whitehead. When the
infection partly reaches the surface and changes color, it
develops into a blackhead.
Shouldn't I just try to
eliminate sebum from my body?
No. When it isn't blocked in your pores, sebum helps keep
your skin healthy.
Why does acne usually start
at puberty?
No one knows for certain. What is known is that the
sebaceous glands that produce sebum get much larger at
puberty than they were before.
Why does the skin around a
pimple turn red?
This redness is caused by the body's inflammatory response.
Inflammation is a sign that your immune system is working to
fight an infection. However, the inflammatory response
doesn't always work perfectly, and can even be the cause of
scarring.
If my skin turns red, does
that mean that I'm going to have scars?
Usually, no. Even when there will be no permanent scar, the
aftereffects of the inflammatory response can leave the skin
red for months, sometimes for more than a year.
What are free radicals?
Free radicals are byproducts of oxidation in your body. We
all need oxidation to occur as part of our life process, but
there is concern that the buildup of unrecycled free
radicals contributes to many conditions, including skin
damage. Antioxidants, including several of the active
ingredients in Acnezine, help prevent the buildup of free
radicals.
Does Acnezine have any side
effects?
No. The active ingredients in Acnezine have not been shown
to have any side effects. Studies indicate that they have a
variety of beneficial healing and preventive qualities.
Furthermore, the different ingredients work with each other
so that they are more effective together than they would be
alone.
Do I have to order your
system for the rest of my life?
NO! Unlike other systems that work to solve the current acne
problem that you have, Acnezine works to stop the problem at
it's source and in doing so will work to prevent future
acne. Most of our clients will get optimal results in a one
to three month period, after this time they do not need to
use the system again. Most people will use Acnezine after
their initial treatment for a few months out of the year as
maintenance which is recommended, but not necessary.
Men’s Provillus - FAQs
Hair loss, or alopecia, is a common disorder and can be due
to many causes. Human hair undergoes phases of growth and
rest during their life span. The growth phase is called
anagen; 80% of the scalp hair is in this phase at any point
of time. 20% of the hair is in the sleeping phase called
telogen. It has been estimated that the scalp normally
contains about 100,000hairs. Therefore, the average number
of hairs that can be lost in a day is about 100. Hair loss
can be of several different types, including alopecia areata
(temporary hair loss in a coin-shaped patch), telogenef
fluvium (temporary hair loss secondary to a stressor on the
system), and androgenetic alopecia (male-pattern hair loss).
The most common, male pattern hair loss is seen during the
20s or early 30s by gradual loss of hair, chiefly on the top
of the head and in the angles at the frontal hairline. It is
thought to be due to the male hormone combined with genetic
factors.
Is stress a factor in hair loss?
Stress does not cause hair loss, but it aggravates the
condition. A type of hair loss called as Telogen effluvium
occurs after an insult to the system. The most common cause
is pregnancy. This can result in extensive and worrisome
hair loss in women in the first few months after the birth
of a baby. It is, however, temporary and returns completely.
What is DHT and how is it involved in hair loss?
DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, is an active form of the male
hormone testosterone. Studies suggest that DHT levels can
harm hair follicles in a genetically predisposed person,
eventually causing baldness. The chemical conversion of
testosterone to DHT, if blocked can prevent hair loss. There
are hair restoration products that target this reaction. Few
examples are finasteride, a prescription medicine and an
active ingredient in Propecia. Finasteride blocks the
chemical reaction that converts testosterone into DHT,
thereby making the hair follicles active again make new
hairs.
What is the relationship between genetics and hair loss?
Although not the primary cause of male-pattern hair loss,
genetics does have a significant role in male-pattern hair
loss. It is, however, polygenic, in that there is more than
one factor at work. It is not clear whether having an
affected mother or an affected father predisposes
descendants to greater risks.
Can hair loss occur in young adults?
Male-pattern hair loss typically is seen from 20s and early
30s, but can also be found as early as 15. Hair loss in
young adults may also be due to other causes like Alopecia
areata and telogen effluvium, can occur in children as young
as one year of age. Genetic factors may also contribute to
hair loss.
What can be the cause of a sudden loss of a large mass of
hair?
Sudden loss of large mass of hair can be due to stress
caused by illness, high fever, pregnancy, extreme weight
loss or gain, and drug use; however, it is temporary and
reversible. This happens when the hair cycle is disrupted
and more hair shifts to the resting phase. This type of hair
loss is temporary and full re growth should be expected.
Does Provillus have any side effects?
No. Provillus does not have any known side effects.
Do shampoos and other hair products cause hair loss?
Sue of strong chemicals or products that may cause allergy
can initiate hair loss. Shampoos are designed to be as safe
as possible. However, the sensitivity may differ from person
to person. Caustic hair dyes, straighteners, and other
products can certainly cause inflammation of the scalp and
result in hair loss.
Can
my hairstyle cause my hair to fall out?
Certain hairstyles can contribute to hair loss, most notably
styles involving tight braids or pull-backs. This form of
hair loss is called traction alopecia. This occurs when the
hair is pulled tightly back and fastened at the base of the
skull, or braided into tight braids or rows. Exposure to
this type of hairstyle over long periods can result in a
scarring alopecia, with no potential for re-growth
Women's Provillus - FAQ
What causes hair loss?
The female pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia is the
most common type of hair loss accounting for over 95 per
cent of cases. A few cases may also have a genetic
predisposition, inherited from the father or mother. The
main culprit for hair loss is the hormone
dihydrotestesterone, DHT. Testosterone, a male hormone
(present in small quantity in females) is converted to DHT
by the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. It is
seen that people with a lot of this enzyme (density of the
enzyme is genetically programmed) make more DHT. DHT binds
to the hair follicles making them dysfunctional and causes
hair loss. The growth phase of the hair is shortened making
it fall prematurely. It also prevents re-growth of new hair.
Unlike male pattern baldness, there is usually a general
thinning of the hair with loss predominantly over the top
and sides of the head. It usually gets worse with the
menopause as estrogen level declines that usually keeps
check over testosterone level.
Another common cause of hair loss in women is a condition
called alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that affects
more than two per cent of the population. In this, immune
cells mistakenly attack the hair follicles. The follicles
then become very small and hair production slows down
dramatically, so there may be no visible hair growth for
months and years. After some time, hair may grow as before,
come back in patchy areas or not at all.
Can hair loss occur in young adults?
Female pattern hair loss usually occurs after menopause,
however, hormonal imbalance anytime in the life can initiate
hair loss. Family history should also be considered.
Alopecia areata and telogen effluvium, two other forms of
temporary hair loss, can occur in children as young as one
year of age. Other precipitating factors like thyroid
problems, pregnancy and birth control pills may also be
contributing factor.
What can be the cause of a sudden loss of a large mass of
hair?
Sudden loss of large mass of cells may be due to stressors
in the system like illness, high fever, pregnancy, extreme
weight loss or gain, and drug use; however this is temporary
in nature and subsides once the stressors are removed.
Theses stressors tend to disrupt the growth and rest cycle
of the hair. As a result more hairs are in the resting phase
instead of growth phase.
Does Provillus have any side effects?
No. Provillus is all-natural and is free from any side
effects.
Do shampoos and other hair products cause hair loss?
Generally shampoos and other hair products are meant to be
safe, but some people may be hypersensitive to the
ingredients and may get an allergic reaction. Caustic hair
dyes, strengtheners, and other products can certainly cause
inflammation of the scalp and result in hair loss.
